Raven Johnson admits she annoyed Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever teammates
Indiana Fever rookie Raven Johnson enjoyed a strong senior year with the South Carolina Gamecocks last season. She competed in the national championship game and won the SEC Defensive Player of the Year Award. The guard played 40 regular-season games, averaging 9.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
The Fever took notice of her talent and selected her at No. 10 in this year’s draft. Johnson is expected to play behind Caitlin Clark and Ty Harris at point guard while acclimating herself in the WNBA. She is a proven winner in college and could be a key weapon off the bench for Fever head coach Stephanie White.

WNBA: Raven Johnson looked to Indiana Fever veterans for answers
Indiana held its first training practice on Sunday. It allowed Johnson to share the court with the team’s veterans for the first time. The two-time NCAA champion spoke to reporters on Wednesday to discuss how the session went and how she felt being around her new teammates.
“I thought it was very competitive,” Johnson said. “But it felt good to be here, honestly. Sophie Cunningham, Caitlin Clark, Lexie Hull, Kelsey Mitchell, they (are) all great people to be around.
“They helped me when I didn’t know things. So, I asked them a lot of questions yesterday. They probably got annoyed by me, but I did ask them a lot of questions.”

Johnson admitted that she may have annoyed Clark and the rest of her new Fever teammates with all her questions. Nevertheless, she also knew that this was a necessary risk as part of her transition with the squad.
Johnson made a name for herself in college as a pesky defender. She may only be 5-foot-8, but she can defend both guard positions and is capable of big plays when needed. Johnson also showcased her offensive efficiency in 2025, shooting a career-high 48.6%, including 39.8% from beyond the arc.
The two-time SEC All-Defensive Team member was selected in the top 10 for a reason, and the Fever may have gotten the steal of the draft.
