As the 2026 WNBA season is getting closer with tip-off one week from today, the Sky have to be excited with the talent on their roster. Let’s take a closer look at some of the top talent they have this season and where they rank among the rest of the league.
The Chicago Sky have 5 players on ESPN’s top 50 list
The WNBA has expanded to 15 teams this season, so there is a lot of talent all over the league. However, the Sky have made sure to acquire talented players throughout the offseason. Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca made sure that after the Angel Reese trade, the team was going to be competitive right away. ESPN’s Michael Voepel, Charlie Cremee, Kendra Andrews, and Kareem Copeland collaborated on a list of the 50 best players heading into the season. Chicago got a lot of love on the list, as they had five players mentioned, which was tied with the Los Angeles Sparks for the third-most. Below are the five names for Chicago and their ranking on the list:

- 32) Rickea Jackson
- 34) Kamilla Cardoso
- 37) Azura Stevens
- 43) DiJonai Carrington
Chicago is in a position to be a feisty team in the 2026 WNBA season, as they proved they are willing to trade players away. The team traded for Jackson and signed free agents to stockpile talent around Cardoso. This Sky team may not win a lot of games, but they can be in contention for one of the final playoff spots if things go correctly. It will be intriguing to see how they gel together, as this roster has a lot of new faces playing together for the first time.
