Did the NFL snub Chicago Bears for International Games?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell attends an NFL International Series game between the Chicago Bears and the Jacksonville Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Chicago Bears are looking to build on their promising 2025 season. The team reached the playoffs for the first time in five years and advanced to the Divisional Round. However, the Los Angeles Rams ended Chicago’s campaign 20-17 in overtime.

Caleb Williams silenced his critics with strong performances throughout the season. Many questions surrounded him about his leadership and his ability to lead the franchise to significant success.

The quarterback completed 330 of 568 passes for 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns in 17 regular-season games. Rookie tight end Colston Loveland and veteran running back D’Andre Swift also shone in the offense.

Chicago aims to have a deeper run in 2026 and potentially compete for a Super Bowl title. Williams under center has led the team to taste NFC North glory, making them hungrier for more.

Chicago Bears likely won’t have international game in 2026

The Bears will likely play all their regular-season games next season in the U.S. They were projected to face the Atlanta Falcons as the road team in Madrid on Nov. 8. However, the NFL announced on Tuesday that the Falcons will host the Cincinnati Bengals instead.

The Detroit Lions will play in Munich in 2026, but are scheduled to face the New England Patriots. The New Orleans Saints and the Jacksonville Jaguars are two more opponents the Bears are set to face this coming season. Both teams play abroad, but are also scheduled to face Chicago in Soldier Field.

At this point, it appears that Commissioner Roger Goodell and the NFL have snubbed the Bears for an international game this season.

Chicago boasts several stars on its roster, which may make many consider it a snub. Its style of play has drawn a lot of attention, as it is known as one of the most exciting in the NFL. Nevertheless, it appears that this is not enough for the league to schedule a game abroad for the Bears.

The supposed snub could also serve as extra motivation for Williams and his team to exceed their achievements last season. The Bears already turned a lot of heads in 2025, and they have a chance to put the entire football world on notice with another strong run.

It is worth noting that Chicago, along with the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins, holds marketing rights in Spain. The Bears could potentially host a game in Madrid in the next few seasons.

The last time the Bears had an international game was in 2024. They defeated the Jaguars in London, 35-16.
