OTL: Happy Schedule Release Week!

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Happy Monday, Flock. As the longest slog of the offseason continues, we’re at least in for something resembling exciting news this week, as the NFL’s schedule release date has been set for Thursday.

Ravens fans already know one of the dates of course, as the game in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil against Dallas is set for Week 3.

For the road trip-minded Ravens fan who prefers to stay stateside, losing the chance to head to Jerry World is a bit of a bummer. Non-AFC North destinations for the season include Carolina, Atlanta, Houston, Indy, and Buffalo. After starting the season on the road in KC and Buffalo the last two years – games that each ended in heartbreaking losses – it would be nice for Jesse Minter to be able to kick off his Baltimore tenure in style at home. Perhaps against Cincy just as John Harbaugh did way back in 2008?

That seems to be fans’ preference, at least:

Speaking of the AFC North, while he’s no longer in Cleveland, tight end David Njoku will still be lining up against the Ravens this season, albeit as a member of the Los Angeles Chargers.

Njoku is a guy some in the Flock had identified as a possible addition to the Ravens’ TE room headed into the season. Instead, he goes out west to join Justin Herbert & Mike McDaniel.

As for actual new Ravens, safety Jaylinn Hawkins took to Instagram to do some recruiting this weekend.

Could Stefon Diggs be the latest veteran WR to join the Ravens in the latter part of a career? Diggs will turn 33 in November, and while he never seemed like a realistic option when John Harbaugh was in charge, with Minter at the helm, who knows? The off-field stuff is always hanging over him, but the talented former Terp seemingly still has something in the tank.
