The Chicago Blackhawks are getting ready for their season to officially come to an end. As a result, they need to figure things out in order to improve for next year. With their young talent, they could be prime candidates for a trade this offseason with a team looking to hit the reset button. The Chicago Blackhawks could trade for Brady Tkachuk this offseason
Adam Gretz of Bleacher Report wrote an article discussing potential landing spots for Brady Tkachuk if he were to be traded this offseason. Gretz listed a handful of teams that could make a deal for him, including the Blackhawks. Below is what he said about why Chicago makes sense:
“The Chicago Blackhawks are going into year four of the Connor Bedard era, and in some ways, they are just as bad as they were the year before they drafted him. While there is a ton of young talent on the roster and in the prospect pool, the Blackhawks can not fall into the trap of just waiting for them all to succeed, because not all of them will….
“At some point, you need to complement [young draft picks] with established players already in their prime. The Blackhawks need to start doing that. Given their draft pick capital and prospect pool, as well as the fact that they have plenty of salary-cap space and almost no major long-term investments, they should be in the market for any top-line player who might become available this summer. That would include Tkachuk.”
The 26-year-old winger has recorded 59 points (22 goals, 37 assists) this season entering Sunday’s game. Ottawa seems ready to hit the reset button, and having a duo of Bedard and Tkachuk could make things intriguing. It will be interesting to see if Chicago believes they can get a deal they like to add one of the more dynamic players in the league.
