Bears linked to yet another blockbuster trade that would alter the NFL

Earlier this offseason, the Chicago Bears were tabbed as a potential trade destination for Las Vegas Raiders superstar Maxx Crosby. Crosby was then dealt to the Baltimore Ravens, but the Ravens backed out of the deal at the last second.

The Raiders decided to hold on to Crosby for now, but there is no question that things have become awkward between Las Vegas and the defensive end.

Could the Bears once again emerge as contenders to land Crosby?

Right now, all things appear quiet on the Crosby front, but that could certainly change between now and Week 1 with training camp on the horizon. It’s also possible that the Raiders could revisit trade talks if they are out of playoff contention by the NFL trade deadline (which seems like an inevitability).

On that subject, Max Dible of Heavy has proposed a blockbuster trade in which Chicago would finally be able to swipe Crosby from Sin City.

Dible’s trade package has the Bears sending Shemar Turner, a 2027 first-round draft pick and a 2028 third-rounder to the Raiders in exchange for Crosby, who had initially been dealt to Baltimore for a pair of first-round selections.

“If Chicago were put up a 2027 first in addition to a third-rounder in 2028 and Turner, who has big upside and the versatility to play either defensive end or defensive tackle, the Bears’ offer would essentially equate to the following: second-round value in 2025, first-round value in 2027 and third-round value in 2028,” Dible wrote.

Would Las Vegas be willing to accept a trade that only includes one first-round draft choice? Well, considering that Crosby’s value may have dipped as a result of the knee surgery that apparently bothered the Ravens enough to nix their deal, perhaps.

And if we are being honest, an offer that includes Turner plus those two draft picks is actually a pretty nice haul, although Turner himself tore his ACL midway through 2025, which certainly put a bit of a dent in his value.

For Chicago, you would have to think this trade would be an easy one. Crosby is a bona fide star when healthy, and given how much the Bears could use another pass rusher alongside of Montez Sweat, they would be remiss not to pull the trigger here.

It might not be realistic at the current point in time, but it wouldn’t be surprising of Crosby rumors heat up once again as we approach the regular season.
