Bears owner George McCaskey turns heads after Chicago move
The Chicago Bears took a big step forward last season and garnered a lot of attention. The front office, led by chairman George McCaskey, made the right moves to strengthen the roster and surround Caleb Williams with more talent.
While the franchise has not had much success during McCaskey’s tenure, it has proved it is ready to compete for a Super Bowl. The Bears reached the playoffs for the first time in five years in 2025 and won the NFC North with an 11-6 record. They added key pieces this offseason to plug holes and address positional needs.
Chicago faces one of the toughest NFL schedules next season. However, the team can prove its critics wrong by exceeding its achievements from the previous campaign. It will be tough, but it’s not impossible.

McCaskey continues to impact Chicago. His Bears’ rise has brought hope to the city, and he also gives back to the community with his volunteer work. On Monday, Front Office Sports posted a video on Instagram of the 70-year-old serving as a youth baseball umpire in the Chicago area.

McCaskey took over as the team chairman in 2011, succeeding his brother, Michael. He officially became the controlling owner of the Bears in 2025 when his mother, principal owner Virginia Halas McCaskey, passed away.
The Bears have a 105-140 record over McCaskey’s 15 years as chairman. However, it won’t be surprising to see the team significantly improve this record in the next few seasons. The relatively young roster could help the team contend for the years to come.
