Bears’ rising star clowns Packers in the most innocent way possible
The Chicago Bears established themselves as kings of the NFC North last season, winning the division title and then defeating the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
Of course, the Bears still have to defend their crown in 2026, and nothing is guaranteed, but one thing is clear: they are no longer doormats for the Packers.
Chicago beat Green Bay in two out of three meetings this past year, rallying during the second half in both victories. Caleb Williams showed a flare for the dramatic in each of those triumphs (as well as throughout the season in general), and one of the biggest reasons was tight end Colston Loveland.
Loveland developed into one of Williams’ top targets during his rookie campaign, hauling in 58 receptions for 713 yards and six touchdowns. In the Bears’ playoff win over the Packers, the former first-round pick logged eight catches for 137 yards.
Clearly, Loveland is a big-time weapon and is someone Green Bay will have to account for in 2026 and beyond. He also just made his distaste for the Packers very evident.

During a recent autograph signing, Loveland decides to blast the Packers in the most innocuous way possible, signing a card with the phrase, “F— the Packers.”
In prior years, there is no question that the Bears were looking up to Green Bay. Chicago couldn’t find a way to beat the Packers, especially when Aaron Rodgers (who famously said he owned the Bears) was under center. The Bears’ struggles against Green Bay then continued over Jordan Love’s first couple of years as the starting quarterback.
However, Chicago now finally has some bragging rights, so Loveland’s shot no longer sounds like sour grapes.
The Bears are viewed as top contenders to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl next season, and with the Packers licking their wounds after a rather uneven offseason that saw them fail to address some significant holes (like edge rusher, for example), Chicago could end up finishing above Green Bay yet again.
Of course, the Bears still have a lot of work to do themselves, but the tide may finally be turning in the rugged NFC North.
