Chicago Bears 2x Pro Bowl pass rusher reveals motivation heading into 2026 NFL season

Grady Jarrett, Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are hoping that the 2026 NFL season sees them take even more steps forward as a team. Last year, in the first year of the Ben Johnson era, Chicago won the NFC North for the first time in years and finished with a respectable 11-6 record. In their minds, and the minds of many, 2026 should only bring more improvements.

One area that absolutely needs to get better in 2026 is the Bears’ pass rush. Last year, it was among one of the worst in the NFL, a fact that has been mentioned numerous times by a variety of media outlets over the course of this off-season.

And two-time Pro Bowler Grady Jarrett is sick of it.

Grady Jarrett believes the Chicago Bears pass rush will be better in 2026

Chicago, like other NFL teams, have started organized team activities (OTAs) this week. During these practice sessions, Jarrett spoke with reporters about the narrative surrounding the Bears’ pass rush:

“Yeah, we all got cell phones and internet, so… No, so we hear it, man. But it also comes with the job, you know, it comes with the job.

“And at the end of the day, we gotta really take it personal and get back to work. Even if sometimes your best ain’t good enough. So you gotta find out ‘Where can I be better at?’

“So it all goes together. But all we can do as a unit is look in the mirror and challenge ourselves every day to go be better and do what we need to do to have better output.”

As one can see, Jarrett and the rest of the Bears defensive line is using the criticism of their 2025 performance as motivation to be better in 2026. For his part, Jarrett had 1.5 sacks last year, his first in Chicago.

The Bears did not do much to add to their pass rush this off-season, so they must have faith that the players they already have can figure it out this season. Hopefully they are correct.
