Notre Dame Fighting Irish star’s shocking NFL Draft intel revealed
No one was surprised when Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back Jeremiyah Love was selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the No. 3 overall pick of the NFL Draft. The Cardinals needed a running back, and Love was viewed by some as a generational talent.
But you know what was surprising? Watching fellow Notre Dame halfback Jadarian Price go 32nd overall to the Seattle Seahawks.
Yes, the Seahawks lost Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III to the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency, and Zach Charbonnet did tear his ACL in the playoffs. But I’m not sure Price himself even though he would come off the board in the first round.
Apparently, though, Seattle was not the only NFL team interested in Price. ESPN’s Brady Henderson has revealed that both the San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans were interested in Price, causing the Seahawks to panic and nab Price with their first-round selection.

Love certainly took center stage when it came to Notre Dame’s backfield the last couple of seasons, posting back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns and finishing with 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns while averaging 6.9 yards per carry in 2025.
In the shadows, however, was Price.
Price arrived in South Bend in 2022 but missed his first season due to a torn Achilles. Love then joined the Fighting Irish in 2023, so Price never got the chance to be a featured back, but he did register 746 yards and seven scores on 6.2 yards per attempt in 2024. This past year, he recorded 674 yards and 11 touchdowns, logging six yards per tote.
You would think Price would have transferred out of Notre Dame given Love’s presence, but he opted to stay and serve as a very productive No. 2 back.
Evidently, it didn’t bother NFL teams, who clearly viewed Price as a first-round talent after an impressive showing at the Scouting Combine.
Because Walker is gone and Charbonnet is currently recovering from a serious injury, Price stands to win the Seahawks’ starting running back job in 2026, although he will have to compete for time with free-agent signing Emanuel Wilson.
We’ll see if Aneyas Williams can effectively step into Notre Dame’s featured role next fall.
