OTL: Good Attendance for Final Week of OTAs
The last week of OTAs is upon us, and on Tuesday, all eyes were on the offense. For starters, face of the franchise QB Lamar Jackson was once again in attendance:

I have no doubt that Jackson will continue to be the focus of many debates heading into the 2026 season, but the discussions on Tuesday seemed to involve his receiver corps. With the A.J. Brown trade to New England in the rear-view mirror, respective WR rooms were being evaluated league-wide:
Best WRs last season
1. JSN
2. Puka
3. Amon Ra
4. Ja’Marr
5. Pickens
6. Olave
7. Flowers
8. Nico
9. JJetts
10. Wan’Dale

While it’s hard to argue with the idea that Baltimore’s receivers are just “meh,” many have asserted that they’re downright bad. For me, that’s harsh, especially when considering the continued development of Zay Flowers:

Most wouldn’t call Flowers the league’s seventh-best WR (and I probably wouldn’t, either), but he has grown each year and shown that he can lead an offense in big games. Alongside Flowers, however, come the question marks.
Although I’ve expressed excitement for a re-emergence of Rashod Bateman in OC Declan Doyle’s offense, he has yet to show for OTAs. Yes, they’re voluntary, but as Samuel Njoku notes, there’s few who may benefit more from the practice:
Rashod Bateman not being at OTAs is crazy considering I can’t think of a single player who would benefit from it more.
— Samuel Njoku (@RavensTalkPod) June 2, 2026
Needless to say, it’s driving speculation about the Minnesota product’s future in Charm City:
I wonder if the Ravens trade Bateman before the season starts.
— STONE (@stone_2x) June 2, 2026
There is an extenuating circumstance for Bateman, however.
Declan Doyle said that Rashod Bateman is not at OTAs due to a personal matter. He became a father earlier this year and an Instagram post with his baby from May 12 is captioned “give af bout nun else,” which, fair!
Dad Strength Rashod Bateman???

Meanwhile, Baltimore’s newest WR additions continue to draw attention this offseason:
A look at the @ravens new receivers, both drafted in the 2026 draft.

There’s tons of excitement about both Lane and Sarratt, and for good reason. At the same time, if Bateman doesn’t improve, do we trust Tez Walker and the rookies to jump into key roles?

I could see Walker stepping into the WR3 spot as a solid contributor, but that sort of scenario is where I could see Baltimore’s receivers falling flat. If Flowers were to go down for an extended period, woof.
Am I talking myself into a signing I haven’t wanted from the start?

To counteract any shortcomings, fans will hope Doyle’s new offense can inject more passing success in 2026. If early press conferences and interviews are any indication, the Ravens staff and players feel confident in his impact:
For those curious about the Ravens offensive philosophy here is an interview with Durham Smythe. He was in Chicago with Declan last year and with Miami and Mike McDaniel. Real bright guy. https://t.co/3DpmTHCVlz

Zay Flowers on Ravens OC Declan Doyle:
“He a genius. He got stuff that I’ve never seen. Plays and routes and stuff to help you get open. He teaches you in a certain way where you remember the plays. … I’ve been loving it so far.”
On his relatability:

Ravens DC Anthony Weaver on OC Declan Doyle: “He is like a human computer. It’s like he has a photographic memory.”
— Jamison Hensley (@jamisonhensley) June 2, 2026
That’s what you love to hear!
As for Weaver, the new DC spoke highly of those in the EDGE room, which is the coach’s personal specialty:

With Myles Garrett leaving for LA, Baltimore may have the AFC North’s best pass rusher:
Anthony Weaver said that Mike Green was “milliseconds” away from having a double digit sack season
— Cordell Woodland (@CordellWoodland) June 2, 2026
T.J. Watt would like a word, but if Weaver can get the most out of Hendrickson, Green and Young, Jesse Minter’s defense could be an unstoppable force.
That, combined with the potential of Doyle’s offense, has Vegas and media members alike expecting big things for the Ravens this season:
