Chicago Bulls’ Billy Donovan makes concerning comment about front office
With a little over a week before the trade deadline on Feb. 5, the Chicago Bulls appear ready to stubbornly fight for a spot in the Play-In Tournament.

The Bulls suffered a 129-118 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night at the United Center, dropping Chicago’s record to 23-23. The loss killed a four-game winning streak for the ninth-place team in the Eastern Conference.
Center Nikola Vucevic made his feelings clear on what he thinks should happen at the trade deadline, hoping the front office gives their core one more opportunity to make a run in the spring.
That might happen whether Bulls executive vice president of basketball operations Artūras Karnišovas wants to tear down a roster with seven impending free agents or not.
Per Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Bulls head coach Billy Donovan told reporters that he spoke with the front office about their thinking before the trade deadline.

Chicago is hearing crickets.
“From (Karnisovas) right now as it relates to real significant movement, it’s been pretty slow,” Donovan said. “There’s nothing that’s really transpired. When you get to this point you’ve always got to have partners in this thing.
“I think Arturas and (general manager) Marc (Eversley), the front office, are going to make decisions that are long-term good things for the organization. He mentioned to me (Monday) that there is just not a lot going on.”
Donovan knows what the Bulls need to do to get the ball rolling. However, it doesn’t appear this front office can find a trade partner—if they even know how.
There is a real possibility Karnišovas is going to let White walk into free agency this summer. Good luck re-signing him.
That would be a waste of capital for Chicago to lose its former first-round pick without getting anything in return.
