Bleacher Report predicts this Chicago White Sox prospect will be called up by end of April
The Chicago White Sox have some top-tier prospects going through their farm system, and still have some yet to debut. However, one of their players is getting close to making his MLB debut. With the team’s production and needs at the big league level, a call-up might happen sooner rather than later. Let’s take a closer look at who it is and why one outlet believes he may be called up before the end of the calendar month.
Noah Schultz is predicted to be called up by the Chicago White Sox this month
Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report wrote an article predicting seven prospects to get called up before the end of April. One of the players he predicts is White Sox starting pitcher Noah Schultz. Below is the reasoning behind Reuter’s belief in this:
“Noah Schultz was trending toward No. 1 pitching prospect in baseball status when he logged a 2.24 ERA and 115 strikeouts in 88.1 innings while reaching Double-A as a 20-year-old in 2024. His stuff and command backed up last year while he battled knee tendinitis. He finished with a 4.68 ERA while his walk rate more than doubled from 6.7 to 14.1 percent. Now he is back to full health and dominating Triple-A hitters to open the 2026 season.
“With a towering 6’10” frame, an elite fastball-slider combination and a whip-like arm slot, he has drawn consistent comparisons to Randy Johnson. With opponents batting .089 against him through three starts and his walk rate down to an elite 4.3 percent, he is running out of boxes to check in the minors.”
Schultz is the second-ranked prospect in the White Sox farm system. He has been dominating in Triple-A Charlotte through three games (two starts). So far this season, he is 3-0 with a 1.92 ERA and a 0.429 WHIP in 13.0 innings. His control is incredible, posting a 2:19 walk-to-strikeout ratio as well. It will be intriguing to see if the White Sox decide to call him up within the next few weeks.
